Открытый урок по английскому языку.
Тема: «Путешествие… зачем? Для чего?

«Travelling… What for?»

Учитель английского языка: Людмила Анатольевна Саяпина.

2012г.

Цели урока:

1) способствовать формированию целостного представления о

путешествиях;

2) систематизировать и обобщить имеющиеся у учащихся знания по данной

теме.

Задачи урока:

учебные: формирование лексико-грамматических навыков; развитие навыков чтения, устной монологической и диалогической речи и аудирования;
развивающие: развивать способности к сравнению, умозаключению, развивать оперативную память, развивать способности к распределению внимания, коммуникабельности, умение выражать своё отношение к теме, способствовать развитию аналитического, критического и образного мышления через использование проблемных ситуаций и творческих заданий, развитие навыков аудирования, чтения;
воспитательные: формирование уважительного и ответственного отношения к природе, окружающим людям, воспитание бережливости;
социокультурная задача: привлечение интереса к проблемам окружающей среды, памятникам, достопримечательностям.

Тип урока: закрепление знаний по теме.

Форма урока: урок - защита проекта.

Оснащение урока:

Наглядный материал: видео/аудио записи (Петергоф: дворцы и фонтаны, диск «Барселона»); аудиозапись к учебнику «Английский язык» для 8 класса общеобразовательных учреждений (Авторы: В. П. Кузовлев, Н. М. Лапа), магнитофон, телевизор, проигрыватель с пластинками, карты, открытки.
Материалы учебных пособий: учебник «Английский язык» 8 класс, книга для чтения, рабочая тетрадь. Авторы: В. П. Кузовлев, Н. М. Лапа. Образовательные программы «Trinity Travel», «Language Travel».

На доске: число, тема, постеры с изображением разного рода путешествий, текст песни «Brighton in the Rain».
Brighton in the Rain
I've never been to Athens and I've never been to Rome

I've only seen the Pyramids in picture books at home

I've never sailed across the sea or been inside the plane

I've always spent my holidays in Brighton in the rain.

I've never eaten foreign food or drink in a foreign bar

I've never kissed a foreign girl or driven a foreign car

I've never had to find my way in a country I don't know

I've always known just where I am and where Г11 never go.

I've read travel books by writers who have been to Pakistan

I've heard people telling stones of adventures in Iran

I've watched TV documentaries about China and Brazil

But I've never been abroad myself; it’s making my feel ill.

I've studied several languages like Hindi and Malay

I've learnt lost of useful sentences I've never been able to say

The furthest place I've ever been was to the Isle of Man

And that was full of tourists from Jamaica and Japan.

Я никогда не бывал в Афинах или Риме,

И пирамиды видел только на картинах в книжках.

Я никогда не плавал по морю и не был в самолёте,

Я всегда проводил каникулы в Брайтоне в дождь.

Я никогда не ел иностранной еды и не пил в иностранном баре,

Я никогда не целовал иностранную девушку и не водил иностранную

машину,

Я никогда не искал дорогу в незнакомой стране,

Я всегда знал, где я и куда никогда не поеду.

Я читал книги писателей, побывавших в Пакистане.

Я слушал людей, рассказывающих про приключения в Иране.

Я смотрел телепрограммы о Китае и Бразилии,

Но я никогда не был за границей, мне плохо от этого.

Я изучал несколько языков-хинди и малайский.

Я выучил много фраз, которые я не мог сказать.

Я не выбирался дальше, чем остров Мэн.

И там было много туристов с Ямайки и из Японии.

The pupils are taking their seats at their desks.
Teacher: Good morning, boys and girls. Today we've gathered here to discuss a very important and interesting problem. We are going to speak about travelling today. Some people like traveling abroad, but the others like traveling in our country.

Some lessons ago, when we began speaking about traveling, we found out that some of you like travelling abroad and some of you prefer traveling in our country. And according to your likes and dislikes we divided the class into two groups; admirers of traveling abroad and admirers of traveling in our country.

Now let's once more remember when we speak about traveling what we can speak about, what questions we touch upon.

An outline geography.
Sights
People.
Songs.
My traveling.

Teacher: My first question I address to the admirers of the traveling in our county. Some people say that nowdays people prefer traveling abroad. Give me the arguments against traveling abroad.

You can speak your own language.
Tourists have no respect for the countries they visit
You do not have to wait in the airports.
You can choose your favorite food.
Your family and friends are near you.

It's wonderful to discover new places.
Travel abroad is a part of people's education.
It teaches people about art and culture.
It teaches to be understanding.
You can improve your knowledge of foreign languages.

Teacher: Now reading for specific information; ex.8.p.58.

Teacher: Imagine you are going to travel to the UK and to travel in our country. Can you tell me about an outline of British and Russian geography? Ids like to listen to traveling abroad admirers at first.

PI: The British Isles is the geographical name of the two large islands of Great

Britain and Ireland and a lot of small around them.

Ireland consists of Northern Ireland and the Republic of Ireland which is not

part of the UK.

The United Kingdom (or the UK) is a short way of saying the United Kingdom of

Great Britain and Northern Ireland. It's the political name of the country which

is made up of Northern Ireland, Scotland, and Wales, England. The people of

these countries are British.

Great Britain is the name of the island which consists of England, Scotland and

Wales. The name "Britain" comes from the word "Pretani", the Greco-Roman

Word for the people of Britain. The Romans mispronounced it and called the

Island "Bretannia".

P2: Russia is one of the largest countries in the world. The vast territory of Russia lies in eastern part of Europe and the northern part of Asia. Russia is washed by twelve seas and the oceans. The oceans are: the Arctic, the Atlantic, the Pacific. The seas are: the White Sea, the Okhotsk Sea, the Black Sea, the Baltic Sea and others. The longest rivers are the Volga in Europe and the ob, the Yenisei and the Lena in Asia. The largest lakes are Ladoga and Baikal. The current population of Russia is more than 143 million people. The European part of the country is densely peopled, and most population live in cities and towns and their outskirts. The capital of Russian Federation is Moscow. Russia is a presidential republic. It is one of the leading powers in the world. I think Russia is a great country and we are lucky to live there.

Teacher: Why travel? Can you think of and reasons for traveling in our country?

PI: The beauty of the ancient towns, their historical and architectural monuments, the gilded domes of the cathedral, the autumnal gold of the forests and fields attract tourists from all over the world.

P2: There are many places of interest in our country. The heart of Moscow is

Red Square. You can see the Moscow Kremlin, St. Basil's Cathedral, Tretyakov

Gallery, Pushkin Museum of Fine Arts, the Bolshoi, Malyi, Children's

Theatres... You may listen to bells.

P3: There are many places of interest in Saint Petersburg: the Admiralty, Palace Square, Monument to Peter the Great, the Kazan Cathedral, St. Isaac's Cathedral, the Smolny Cathedral You can see panoramic view of Vasilyevsky Island. Many tourists visit Petergoph to see fountains Let's watch!

Teacher: Why travel abroad to the UK?

Can you think of any reasons for traveling to the UK?

PI: We can visit an ancient castle in Edinburg in Cardiff.

P2: We can go boating in a river in Oxford, Stafford- upon - Avon.

P3: We can see a stately home in Longleaf.

P4: We can take part in a festival in Belfast Edinburgh.

P5: We can speaking English in Britain.

P6: We can see: Big Ben and the Houses of Parliament, London Eye,

Westminster Abbey, the Tower of London, the Tower of Bridge.

Teacher: Television, films, books etc. have probably given you ideas about what British people are like. Describe the British.

PI: An Englishman is neatly dressed, wears a hat and umbrella, likes to walk in parks, likes birds, tea. British are reserved, conservative, snobbish.

Teacher: You can see typical images of Russian people in films, pictures, in our life. Tell us about it.

PI: The Russians are known as a hospitable people. According to old traditions, a quest should be welcomed with the symbol life-giving food - bread and salt.

P2: " Ivan " with a balalaika is connected with opinion that all Russians are very simple people living in a big village.

Teacher: What about singing?

PI: The singing of chastushkas used to be a main part of Russian rural holidays and parties. In many places they are still popular today.

P2: Let's listen the song " Brighton in Rain ",

P3: It is about traveler, who wants to visit many countries and hare some adventures. He has studied several languages and useful and wants to say them. (p58 ex.7-p240)

T: Make your albums about travelling abroad and in our country and give them to our expert group. Now ask me some questions about travelling.

What things you '11 need if you are going to have holidays abroad?

I'll need a passport, a ticket, a visa, a health insurance, a first aid kit, a travel guide.

Did you enjoy the sunny weather and the atmosphere of a holiday?

Did you travel by car, train, plane?

What places of interests did you visit?

I visited Spain last year. I had heard a lot about this country. Most things were as I had expected I 'd heard that Spaniards were gay and emotional. That's true. They can begin to talk to unknown people. I had heard that Spain was a very beautiful country. And it really was. I made a lot of photos of wonderful places, castles and cathedrals. I enjoyed the sunny weather and the atmosphere of a holiday...
